A keen-eyed store manager has unravelled theft worth almost INR 2 Lakh at the Reliance Retail Limited outlet at Sahakar Bhandar in Chembur. According to the FIR, the store manager saw one customer associate behave suspiciously.
Upon investigation, they found out that one of the customer associates was passing 5 pouches of 1 Litre oil each to one of the delivery personnel (riders), without any billing.
On further investigation, they found out that the total value of goods that were stolen in such a manner was almost INR 2 Lakh. The theft had gone on for almost a whole year.
This is one of the first times that a retail shop has filed a complaint against employees of siphoning off products.
In hindsight, this doesn’t seem to be a well-thought of crime, as according to the FIR, the theft was going on for over a year, and yet the total value of the goods that were stolen was around INR 2 Lakh.
