Many people have questions: What do paranormal researchers in India do? And, of course, do people pay for what these paranormal researchers do? While this blogger doesn’t have a definite answer for either, there’s some information to be revealed. Years ago, there was an online conversation about whether ghosts exist.

Ten strangers attended the one-hour Zoom call, individuals who absolutely didn’t know each other and had come together because of a Facebook page invitation. Within the hour, eight out of the ten chat participants told convincing stories of how they were haunted and how someone with supernatural powers was out to get them. Several types of people would be very interested in meeting these eight individuals. Script-writers, medical professionals, astrologers, and, of course, paranormal researchers.
Who are Paranormal Researchers in India?
Paranormal researchers claim to understand whether there is some paranormal activity in a person’s life, most commonly in a piece of real estate that they own. There are many, many self-professed researchers in India, and it is a gift to view their work on YouTube—a gift that keeps on giving.
The most important part of a paranormal investigation is that they add scientific mumbo-jumbo to their investigation. For example, if the electromagnetic field in the room is broken, there’s a spirit in it – their idea, not ours. This clip on the Syfy channel shows Gaurav Arora (more about him later) investigating paranormal activity in various locations.

How can I become a paranormal researcher in India?
The most intriguing part of the paranormal research scene in India and abroad is that tools for this research are sold online, and these go from ₹12k to ₹1k. Another interesting part is that there’s no educational institute that offers courses on paranormal investigation.
The Indian Paranormal Society used to offer one course, but the link doesn’t exist any longer. This brings us to Gaurav Tiwari, India’s patron saint for paranormal researchers. He did gain some popularity back in the day and was in the news, even internationally, for paranormal research in India. The man met his abrupt death under seemingly mysterious circumstances, according to the supernatural scene, while the police maintain he committed suicide because of financial constraints. Surprisingly, Udemy offers a ‘self-study’ paranormal investigation course.
Which begs the question. If paranormal activity is as common and real as real-life activity, and there are courses for criminal real-life activity, why is there no course for the latter?
