The authorities at St. Catherine’s Home in Andheri West have lodged a complaint of five girls missing from their hostel premises, and have claimed that the girls were kidnapped from their premises in another case of a Mumbai crime.
According to the FIRof the Mumbai crime, the night watchman saw five girls who lived in the hostel premises left their designated places under the pretext of going to the washroom, and went out of the premises.
When the watchman alerted the authorities, they launched a hunt, but couldn’t find the girls anywhere.
The girls are said to have absconded between 11:30 and 2:30 AM.
The St. Catherine’s Home is in Andheri, and on SV Road. It is well-connected to the Metro and the Andheri station is also in its vicinity.
However, given the time that the girls absconded, it’s a given that they would find it difficult to find transport anywhere – as the Mumbai Metro starts it’s services only at 6:00 AM.

While the route has a direct bus to the Andheri Railway Station, there aren’t many buses plying on that road that late in the night.
Also, the bus stop is almost visible from the St. Catherine’s main gate, so the girls would have been spotted immediately if they were at the bus-stop.
