In what could be dubbed the ‘Mira Road singer murder’, a young woman was found murdered in her flat in the early hours of June 13, 2025, allegedly at the hands of her live-in partner, following escalating tensions and suspicions of infidelity.

According to the police report, the couple had been living together in a rented apartment at Mira Road for the past five months. Both were employed in the hospitality industry—the woman worked as a singer at bars in Dahisar and Borivali, while the man worked at a hotel.
The incident came to light when the woman’s brother, who resides in the same building, returned home late that night with a cousin. He stated that the couple had been arguing frequently, with recent fights becoming more intense. The man allegedly doubted the woman’s loyalty and suspected her of being involved with someone else. This mistrust reportedly led to repeated conflicts.
On the afternoon of June 12, a heated argument reportedly began around 3:00 PM. The man accused his partner of being unfaithful, while the woman allegedly responded by asking him to leave if he could not trust her. Enraged, he left the house by 7:00 PM. However, he returned around 10:30 PM and remained quiet and withdrawn.
When the Mira Road singer’s brother and cousin arrived home around 12:20 AM on June 13, they noticed the door was locked from inside but found the keys hanging from the latch. Upon entering, they discovered the woman lying unresponsive on the mattress with blood oozing from her neck. A bloodstained knife was found near the body.
Shocked, they immediately attempted to contact the partner, but he did not respond to their calls. Suspecting foul play, they contacted the police, who quickly arrived at the scene along with emergency services. The woman was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.

Based on the available evidence and witness statements, police registered a case of murder under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The suspect had fled the scene and is currently absconding.
