In a disturbing late-night Mumbai Crime on June 15, 2025, a minor dispute over a food order at a fast food stall in Mumbai’s Colaba area escalated into a serious act of violence. According to the official police report filed at the Colaba Police Station, a food stall worker was attacked with a knife following an argument with a customer.

The victim, a 31-year-old cook, has been working at a popular food joint on Apollo Bundar Road for the past decade. According to his statement, the altercation began around 1:00 AM when a man known to occasionally visit the establishment came in and placed an order for pulav. The customer reportedly complained about a previous order and demanded that this one be made properly.
While the cook was preparing the dish, the customer began verbally abusing him using obscene language. In response, the cook stated that if the food wasn’t to his liking, he was free to eat elsewhere. The situation escalated quickly when the customer made a phone call and returned to the stall shortly afterwards with two to three unknown individuals.
This group began verbally attacking both the cook and his colleagues. As the tension grew, the customer reportedly picked up a knife that was kept in the kitchen area and stabbed the cook on the wrist. The attack caused severe bleeding, prompting his coworkers to rush him to GT Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Doctors later confirmed that the victim had suffered a deep injury to his right wrist, which required stitches. Additionally, three fingers on the affected hand were not functioning properly, and doctors indicated that surgery might be necessary to restore full movement.

The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack. The police have registered a case under Sections 118(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The prime accused is known to reside in the Colaba area and had been seen at the food stall before. The other individuals involved in the attack remain unidentified at this time.
Investigating officers are examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to track down the attackers. Police sources confirmed that efforts are underway to apprehend all involved parties.
This Mumbai crime has sparked concern among local vendors and workers in the area, especially those operating during night hours. Many expressed fear and frustration, pointing out the lack of sufficient security and the growing unpredictability of customer behaviour.
