More Details Emerge In Malwani Honey Trap Crime

In what could soon be dubbed the Malwani Honey Trap crime and another case of a unique Mumbai crime, more details are emerging, including the woman slapping a senior citizen with a rape case abruptly.

The woman has been booked and is currently on the run, and the police suspect she might have an accomplice. The police have now filed a case of extortion and are now combing the area in a search for the accused and any of her accomplices.

According to this report, the victim travelled from Delhi to Mumbai to meet her, then spent time with her at a resort in Malad, and later in Goa.

The suspect allegedly extorted around ₹18 Lakh from the man and forced him to buy her a house for ₹4 Cr. As earlier reported in this article, the victim was contacted by an unknown woman, who provided him with audio recordings of the suspect and her associates.

The authorities have a long way ahead of them when it comes to investigating this Mumbai crime, as bits and pieces of clues are spread across different states, one of the most populous and another a tourist hub. While there may be some hiccups in identifying the culprits, we hope to update this report with some positive news soon.

What’s interesting in all this is the role of the unknown woman who contacted the victim with the information. One curiosity about all of this is whether there’s some fallout among a gang that proved to be the final nail in the coffin of this extortion racket.
