In a fresh Mumbai crime. A 29-year-old woman was discovered dead under suspicious circumstances at the New Mini Mahal Lodge in Nerul’s Shiravane area on Thursday morning. Her male companion, who had checked in with her, fled the scene before lodge staff found her unconscious. According to this report, the Nerul police have initiated a search operation to locate the missing man.
Assistant commissioner (Turbhe division) Mayur Bhujbal told The Free Press Journal:
“According to preliminary investigations, the lady’s death is suspected to be due to an overdose of a sexual stimulant, but confirmation will come only after the post-mortem report. We have registered an accidental death case and are continuing their probe.”
Usage of sexual stimulants and their overuse has been the reason for fatalities time and again. In this Mumbai crime, it remains to be seen what the sexual stimulant was, and there will need to be an investigation into how the stimulant was used.
A resident of Ahmednagar, the woman checked into the lodge around 2:30 a.m. with her companion, both of whom were wearing masks. After presenting identification, they were assigned room number 301. However, by morning, her companion had secretly fled, and the lodge staff received no response from the room. The lady’s dead body was found by the housekeeping staff only in the morning. Efforts are now underway to locate the companion who has absconded.
Mystery deaths in lodges and hotel rooms are a stark reality and a part of Mumbai crime scenes, and there have been several reasons for them, from murder to accidental deaths. The safety and security of individuals staying in hotel rooms are one of the main reasons why authorities come up with stringent rules and regulations regarding their booking, including making it mandatory for hotels to request identity proofs.
The security requirements can sometimes frustrate tourists who are simply looking for a good time, but crimes like these once again underscore the necessity of these measures.
