Sikandar, the upcoming Salman Khan movie has been leaked online, just hours before its imminent release in theaters, says Komal Nahata. Nahata, in his detailed post on X, has said that producers had to get the authorities to take down the print from almost 600 websites.
Blockbuster movies getting leaked is not a new occurence, and there have been several such instances. However, what’s interesting is that the producers claim of the movie leaking a day prior to the release.
It’s the worst nightmare for any producer. A film being leaked before its theatrical release. Unfortunately, that’s what happened last evening to Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Sikandar’, slated to release today in cinemas. The producer had the authorities pull the film down from 600 sites… pic.twitter.com/mRA8T4qG23

Also interesting is the fact that a majority of Indians will not be able to access the pirated version anyway, as several ISPs block not just a single webpage but entire websites that are known for piracy.
Because there are reports that the Sikandar pirated version leaked before release, questions will now be raised as to how the leak happened. While very bad prints of movies are out within hours of a movie’s release, it remains to be seen what kind of print the Sikandar pirated version is in.
A lot rides on Sikandar, as it is a Salman Khan starrer that’s releasing after some others that didn’t do that well at the box office. This is also Khan’s first time working with Murugadoss, known for his massy movies – including the Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini.
